Hormone Imbalance Symptoms: My Journey
My journey with the dreaded menopause started over 10 years ago. I know that only in hindsight, because everyone I talked to about it at the time assured me that I was too young for menopause. Silly girl!
It must of been when I was around 35 years old that I had my very first episode of night sweats. I remember it vividly because I thought I had an incurable disease, such as AIDS or diabetes.
Since those episodes of waking in the middle of the night drenched in wet night clothes and bedsheets only happened every six months or so in the beginning, I didn’t put much effort into finding out the root of the problem.
Somewhere around 40 years of age, I started noticing other symptoms that were more difficult to ignore. Bleeding in between my periods started out as only spotting, but grew to what looked like mass hemorrhaging.
Did you even know that can happen in menopause? I thought you started having LESS bleeding.
My legs ached and just wouldn’t be still when I first laid down to go to sleep.
Oh, and the sleep thing…..not good. I would wake in the middle of the night and just lay there willing myself to go back to sleep before that alarm clock went off at 5:30. Or until my youngest child woke me up, whichever was first.
I used to be so cold all the time. I would sleep in socks AND pajamas. Not after perimenopause kicked in!
I asked my husband to please not even lay a hand on any part of my body because it felt like he was holding a hot towel against me. And, just to be sure husband, could you just not even look at me right now?
Oh! Don’t let me forget the hot flashes that would greet me every morning right after I got up or overcome me at the most inopportune times. Can you say job interview?
I wish I had known how to google then instead of making co-pays.
This site will give you all the information you need to help you understand any symptoms of hormone imbalance.
By the way, I feel soooo good now. I am 48 years old and have finally found the answer for me. Stay tuned!
